Foot Introduction

Summary:

We did a fun activity in Art class where we traced our feet. For this project we had to make sure we had 3 different types of media, I used marker, crayon, and paper for my media. On my foot, I have several different things that represent who I am. 

Fishing Pole: I like to go fishing in my free time. 

The stack of books with the apple:  I like to read and I want to be a teacher after college. 

The barn: I grew up on a farm outside of Brandon, SD. 

The corn: My family grows corn on our farm and corn is my favorite vegetable. 

The cow print: The cows that my family has on our farm and cows are one of my favorite animals.

 The bowling ball: I was on my High School bowling team.

 The three stick people: They are my three friends who I love to hang out with when I am not in class or at work. 

Hardy: My favorite artist to listen to during my free time. 

Carrie Underwood. My second favorite artist that I like to listen to during my free time as well. 

Extension Activity: 

I can do this project in the first week of class with my students by having students create their own foot for their locker nameplate. This activity would allow the students to "customize" their locker for the school year. This would also allow them to show other students what are some of their interests and they can find other students whom they have common interests with.

  Summary: The Dot by Peter Reynolds inspired this project where I created my own dot. I created my dot with coffee filters and I drew be bold with white crayon. Then, I used markers and chalk crayons to draw on my coffee filter. After I drew on the coffee filter, I took watercolor paints and started painting over the drawings. I blended the color of the paint with the chalk and markers to make the blue and purple color on my coffee filter. What I like the most about this project is how you can use this as a reading lesson and an art lesson. Doing this will make students excited because they will be able to create their own dot and show their creativity as well Extension Activity: An extension activity I can do is have the students create their own dot. This will allow students to customize the name tags on their lockers. The dots will replace the footprints that are on their locker from the previous art activity. Photograph:

Printmaking

 Summary:  For this project, we were assigned an ecosystem from around the world. I was assigned the grassland ecosystem and I based it off of the South Dakota grassland. In the beginning, we had to draw different elements of our ecosystem and we had to make sure that we included at least one animal into our drawing. With this in mind, I drew a Buffalo, grass, tree, the sun, birds, and Mount Rushmore. I drew a Buffalo because they were commonly found in South Dakota before they were nearly hunted to extinction in the late 1800s and they could be found in Custer State Park. I included Mount Rushmore in my drawing because when I think of South Dakota, I can't help thinking of Mount Rushmore. I drew the other elements because they are the main parts of the grassland ecosystem. When we were done with the drawing, we had to place a piece of foam on top of it.  Summary: This drawing project is where we cut a white piece of paper into four sections. In each section, we had to draw something that we like to do in our free time. I drew a yellow redbull can because redbull is my go-to energy drink to have when I feel I need more energy. Next, I drew a cowboy boot because I like listening to country music and I grew up on a farm. I drew the cowboy boot in colored pencil and used green for the hill that the boot sits on. Then, I drew the bee because my favorite show is Bridgerton and the bee is a symbol in the show. Lastly, I drew the Ziggi's logo because I like going to Ziggi's to get their energy infusion when I feel like I need to treat myself.
